Entire House Remodeling

This prominent entry is just the beginning of a transformation from a home to a castle.  Structural timber framing and detailed stonework are used throughout the space to carry the theme from room to room.  New master bedroom and master bath suite, living rooms, formal dining room, kitchen and breakfast nook are all linked together by meandering stone lined hallways.

What was truly fascinating about this project was that the homeowner had previously hired another contractor to do the original design and work for their remodeling.  They performed demolition throughout much of the house without proper permits or even blueprints.  Once they were dismissed, Skillful Improvements took over the job, repairing damage done by the first contractor and addressing design weaknesses previously overlooked.  From there, we began putting the home together as the owner had originally conceptualized.

Skillful Improvements received the NARI Greater Dallas - 2000 "Contractor of the Year" (Whole House over $100,000) award for this project.  It later went on to win the NARI Region V - 2000 "Contractor of the Year" (Entire House) award.
